Felix "fx" Lindner has died

What sad news.

I met FX many years ago during a Black Hat event. At the time, I was working on a class of vulnerabilities related to zip archives. Not only did he know exactly what I was on to, but he was able to articulate the actual issue and explain what was happening behind the scenes and why my exploit was working.

A true legend.

It's been a long time, but I've always cherished our late night conversations at the Alexis Park. Truly a great hacker. RIP my friend

I'm really sad, even if I never met him personally and only knew him from his talks, his software and of course his blog.

I had hoped that after his illness he would be granted some time for personal life and recovery — which makes this news all the more shocking.

His excitement and deep interest in things from cisco to web security to life was inspiring.

Loved his CISCO talks. RIP.

I never really knew felix, but mob says he was a pretty cool guy, and we miss him already.

Very sad news to hear. People of his caliber are sorely needed in the community. My condolences to everyone close to fefe.

While he was a dividing personality with strong opinions, he had his heart in the right place
